Statement on Recent U.S. Statements Regarding Venezuela
Issued by: Secretariat of State
The Principality of Kaharagia condemns recent statements by former President Donald J. Trump and U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth that suggest the use of “land strikes” or other military action against Venezuela.
Threats of force, and any move towards unilateral military action, run contrary to the United Nations Charter and risk further destabilising an already fragile situation, with predictable harm to civilians.
Kaharagia urges the United States to step back from escalatory language and to pursue any security and criminal justice concerns through lawful, proportionate, and multilateral channels. The future of Venezuela must be settled through peaceful, Venezuelan-led means, not coercion.
The Principality stands in solidarity with the people of Venezuela and reaffirms its commitment to sovereignty, the rule of law, and the peaceful settlement of disputes.
