Official Usage of the Name "Turkiye" in Reference to the Republic of Turkey
In consideration of the communication of His Excellency Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye, addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on 26 May 2022, and the Presidential Circular No. 2021/24 issued by His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkiye, on 3 December 2021, the Principality of Kaharagia hereby adopts the formal usage of the name "Turkiye" (or, in full, "Republic of Turkiye") in all diplomatic, official, and ceremonial contexts.
The decision aligns with the internationally recognised preference of the Republic of Turkiye to be referred to by its native and official name, and reflects Kaharagia's commitment to respectful and accurate representation of sovereign nations in accordance with established international diplomatic practice.
Accordingly, the following conventions shall be observed in all Kaharagian documents, publications, and communications:
1. The State formerly referred to as Turkey shall henceforth be designated as "Turkiye", or in formal usage, "Republic of Turkiye".
2. The adjectival and demonymic form shall be rendered as "Turkish", corresponding to the native form Turk.
3. This usage shall apply uniformly in all Kaharagian diplomatic records, treaties, correspondence, and public references.
This general advisory takes immediate effect and shall be observed by all organs, offices, and missions of the Principality.
